Lessons are play based, one-on-one, and individualized for beginning, intermediate, and competitive swimmers 3 and older. Locker Rooms are closed except for use of the restrooms.Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.Swimming is only permitted when there is a certified Bates lifeguard on duty.Such occurrences may result in the pool being closed at the discretion of the lifeguard. Spitting, spouting of water, blowing the nose, or otherwise introducing contaminants into the facility water is not permitted.

Tarbell Pool is home to Bates Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams. There are also a variety of swim programs including youth lessons and the Bobcats Swim Camp. Bates Aquatics offers open swim hours in Tarbell Pool for the campus community complete with equipment to enhance your workout such as fins, pull buoys and kick boards.
